I've been asked to talk about myself, but wouldn't do it until the catnip was on the table. I may be part Siamese, but I'm not one of those talkative fellas, well, unless it's about me. So here we go...

I decided to grace this human (who called herself mom) with my presence about 5 months ago. I placed my front paws up on the screen door (humans find this charming) and asked her to open the door. She was obviously well trained as she immediately came over and did as she was told.

I immediately let her know who would be in charge from now on. I surveyed what was now mine and established who belonged to whom by rubbing up against "mom" and the big white fluffball. Obviously this canine needed some lessons in how to treat a cat with respect and a few well placed paw swipes immediately put her in her place. She actually thought she could slobber all over me, just to sniff. I may be a gentleman, but a cold, wet nose is pushing it.

This place has possibilities. It's quiet, except for when the pooch goes ballistic over the television. I am not one for tv, but it does make for a good perch and a belly warmer.

It's nice being the only cat, this way I can lay down and snooze anywhere I like and not be disturbed. My actual owner and this new mom have decided to have what they call "joint custody" of me. I'm not sure what exactly that means, but as long as I'm fed on a regular basis and can sleep wherever I want, I don't mind.

I do believe in earning my keep, as long as it's in my best interest. So when Abby found an injured bird and mom took forever to rescue it (I must show her how it's done), I felt it was my duty to protect this morsel...I mean victim, from further harm. So I was willing to give up my valuable time to stand guard over it, occasionally sticking my paw inside to test its reactions. Unfortunately, uh, luckily it was quite alert.

I also make certain that Abby stays out of trouble. They think I follow her around because I like her. That's ridiculous. Oh sure, she has soft brown eyes and maybe she does have an irresistible wiggle that causes her curved tail to tease...*ahem*, as I was saying that couldn't be furthest from the truth. Besides, she's fun to tease. I like to do what mom calls a driveby. I lag behind then come running past her. She can never resist and always has to give chase. But I'm too smart to be caught and jump up on a large rock or climb a tree and flick my tail at her.

Having such responsibilities is tiring, and it's important to get the proper rest. I take this very seriously and check out every possible place to rest. The sofa is always a good choice, so many places to dig into and curl up on. I also enjoy Abby's bed, though it could be bigger for when I want to stretch out.

Well, that's about all I have to say.

Except for one last thing ...

To find some purrfectly soothing tunes to lull me to sleep. Ahh, life is good.
